ContA Iners lots / Car parks
In the early years around 1999, a enterprising tenant / owner use containers to store their goods. The parking charges for the containers were cheap at $10 per day. The charges for containers parking for many days were cheaper than to rent factory spaces. The abuse of the usage causes congestion and create lack of spaces for other user.
The then MA recommended a new tariff system and implemented it.
For the first day, the charges was $10 and the next day double ($20) and its double every following date.
That tenant / owner was caught in the change of system and had to pay heavy charges over a thousand dollars for his containers parking. He refused to pay and parked his car at the exit and block the exit of the complex thus anger the other users. Most of the vehicle could not exit the complex. The press were called by a angry Owner who later become a council member. It was published in the Chinese paper as "the most expensive container parking area"
The culprit involved was served with legal action after he refused to pay the containers fees. A car park sub-committee's member interceded and helped that owner pay for the legal action and the case was settled amicably.
Container Lots
In the year 2010, Twelve park lots at the back of Block 62X were turned into 3 containers lots demarcated by Red Lots. A member claimed that the council agreed to do so at the Council meeting in March 2010. However, the minutes did not record any approval.
For six months, the committee members debated on the issue and voted twice in favor to reinstate the containers lots back to car park lots. The lots were redrawn into Red lots on the insistence of a Council member.
A compromise were made in the Management Council to resolve the matter to redraw partial white lots in the Red painted container lots.
Few vehicles are parking there because some Tenants are using it daily to do their business on the driveway or Red lots. The security cannot monitor the area as the security cameras were out of commission.
